Start in a seated posture - connecting to the breath. Considering the BOLT test to see how you are breathing -
Try the BOLT test (Body Oxygen Level Test). It’s a simple way to assess your breath control and efficiency. Here’s how:
1. Sit comfortably and take a normal, gentle breath in and out through your nose.
2. After exhaling, pinch your nose and hold your breath.
3. Count the seconds until you feel the first natural urge to breathe (not how long you can hold your breath, just the first gentle need to inhale).
4. Release your nose and breathe in normally through your nose.
A BOLT score under 20 seconds may indicate you could benefit from improving your breathing habits—and we’ll be working on just that in classes this month!
Then moving into the practice of shoulders.
